Claims are already circulating in social networks and mass media that the Russian army used attack helicopters to fire at the convoys of units of the “Wagner” PMK, which today, in particular, entered Rostov and blocked the headquarters of the Southern Military District and other buildings of the security forces. And it is also claimed that the “Wagners” shot down at least two or three helicopters of the Russian military.
To what extent these statements correspond to reality is still difficult to establish. It is still not possible to find out what anti-aircraft means could be used by units of the “Wagner” PMC. But at least we can understand what types of helicopters the Russian military took into the air on the basis of footage from social networks.
In one of the shots, in particular, the Rashist Ka-52 “lights up,” which at that time, however, was flying without a combat load but still had hanging fuel tanks. With the same probability, this “board” could perform either the task of conducting visual reconnaissance or at the time of the picture, it could have already struck one of the Wagner convoys and already returned to the base, using fuel from the PTB.
Also, in the footage from social networks, we can see at least one Mi-28 with a suspended combat load. And here, there are definitely no “disagreements” about exactly what task this “board” could perform.
Interestingly, one of the Rashist “military personnel” also declares that the “Wagnerians” supposedly destroyed the Mi-8MTPR specialized radio-electronic warfare helicopter. Cars of this type used to be victims of “massacres by the Bryansk Air Defense Forces.”
Also, this “warrior” declares that “the information about the possible downing of the army Mi-35M is being checked.” It is probably this type of helicopter that we can see in the shot below.
